The police force was first set up to maintain law and order in the Islamic States during the Caliphate of Hazrat Umar (R.A). Hazrat Umar (R.A) established the Islamic calendar, the department of finance, and the town planning department. He also established the police department to maintain law and order in the Islamic states.
Hazrat Umar (R.A) was a wise and just leader who played a significant role in the history of Islam. He was appointed by the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) as one of his companions and later became the second khalifa of Islam.
