Indian legal adviser and Shii pioneer. Taught at Hooghly College, Calcutta, and in London. Addressed in Islamic law at Calcutta College and was named to the Bengal Administrative Committee ( 1881 ) and the Bengal Tall Court ( 1890 ). Set up the Central National Muhammadan Affiliation ( 1877 ) and the All-India Muslim Association in London ( 1908 ). A productive creator who composed English-language books and articles on religion and history, contending Islam as the vehicle of levelheadedness and dynamism amid the age of European brutality and Muhammad as a courier of ethical humanism and advance.
