The "Day of Deliverance"  led by Muslim League President Muhammad Ali Jinnah

On 2 December 1939, Jinnah put out an appeal,

calling for Indian Muslims to celebrate 22 December 1939 as a "Day of Deliverance" from Congress during the Indian independence movement.

It was due to untiring efforts of Jinnah that the Congress “agreed to separate electorate, for the first and the last time”.

Due to these efforts of Jinnah, he was given the title of 'Ambassador of Hindu-Muslim unity' by Sarojni Naidu.
