Izza gave 20% of her candies to Urooj and 15% to Mehwish. If she still had 520 candies, how many did she have originally?
Answer: 800
Explanation
- 20% of x given to Urooj → 0.2x
- 15% of x given to Mehwish → 0.15x
- Remaining candies = 520
So,
x - (0.2x + 0.15x) = 520
x - 0.35x = 520
0.65x = 520
x = 520 ÷ 0.65 = 800
