For gas welding, a head of oxygen and acetylene are used for the process.

The required high temperature in the oxyacetylene welding process is obtained utilizing a mixture containing oxygen and acetylene gas. 

This process can also be used for cutting several materials.

Oxyacetylene: denotes welding or cutting techniques using a very hot flame produced by mixing acetylene and oxygen.
