Explanation

After nine years of efforts, Pakistan successfully framed a constitution.

The Constituent Assembly adopted it on February 29, 1956.

The constitution consisted of 234 articles divided into 13 parts and 6 schedules.

On March 23, 1956, Pakistan was proclaimed an Islamic republic, officially renaming itself the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.

March 23rd became Pakistan's Republic Day.
