Radcliffe Award was the result of the partition plan announced by Lord Mountbatten on 3 June 1947.It outlined the boundary division between India and Pakistan.
The award was officially announced on 17th August 1947, two days after independence.
It was named after Sir Cyril Radcliffe, who chaired the boundary commission.
The award led to the division of Punjab and Bengal provinces.
