Explanation

On the right side of the heart, the right atrium and ventricle work to pump oxygen-poor blood to the lungs.

On the left side, the left atrium and ventricle combine to pump oxygenated blood to the body.

The heart consists of four chambers in which blood flows.

Blood enters the right atrium and passes through the right ventricle.

The right ventricle pumps the blood to the lungs where it becomes oxygenated.
