Abū Dharr al-Ghifārī, a companion of Muhammad  ,  a principal antecedent of Islamic socialism.

 Hazrat Abuzar Ghaffari (RA) belonged to the Banu Ghifar, the Kinanah tribe.

He died in 652 CE, at al-Rabadha, in the desert east of Medina.
