Explanation

The word "Wahi" is derived from the Arabic word "Waha".

It means to convey a message secretly or to give an inspiration quietly and subtly.

The literal meaning of "Wahi" is: Allah's Message.

There are 2 kinds of Wahi:

• 1. Wahee-e-Matlu: This refers to the revelation transmitted by Allah in His own words and speech, such as the Holy Quran.
• 2. Wahee-e-Ghair Matlu: This is the revelation that Allah projected directly into the heart of Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ). It includes the hadiths and other inspired knowledge.
