Explanation

Hazrat Umar (RA) divided the Muslim Empire into 10 provinces for administrative purposes.

The 10 provinces were:

1. Arabia
2. Basra (Iraq)
3. Kufa (Iraq)
4. Syria
5. Jordan (part of the Syrian province)
6. Palestine (part of the Syrian province)
7. Egypt
8. Persia (modern-day Iran)
9. Khorasan (modern-day Afghanistan and parts of Iran)
10. Armenia (which included parts of modern-day Turkey and Caucasus region)
