Explanation

There are five interlocking rings,

1. coloured blue,
2. yellow,
3. black,
4. green,
5. red on a white field.

The five rings represent the five continents of the world:  Europe, Asia, Africa, The Americas, and Oceania

The symbol was originally designed in 1913 by de Coubertin (Released in 1914).
