The word "drama" originates from Ancient Greek. 

It comes from the Greek word "δρᾶμα" (drâma), meaning "a deed, action, dramatic performance, play, dramatic event," which in turn is derived from "δράω" (dráō), meaning "to act, to take action, to achieve".
