Hazrat Hajra, the mother of Hazrat Ismail (AS), ran between the hills of Safa and Marwa seven times in search of water.

This act is commemorated during the Hajj pilgrimage, specifically in the ritual of Sa'i.

The running b/w Safa and Marwa seven times is called Sayee.
