Explanation

John Marshall, a British archaeologist, is credited with the discovery of the Indus Valley Civilization in 1922.

He was the Director-General of the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) at the time and led the excavations at Mohenjo-Daro and Harappa, two of the major cities of the Indus Valley Civilization.
