Brexit comes into force after a year of wrangling on January 01, 2021

After years of wrangling, Britain is finally separating from the EU on January 1, 2021

 Brexit, starting from the referendum and running through Brexit Day on 31 January 2020 

and on to 1 January 2021 (the end of the transition period).

Brexit is an abbreviation of two English words: 'Britain' and 'exit' and refers to the withdrawal process of the United Kingdom (UK) from the European Union (EU).
