Explanation

The Royal Air Force (RAF) is the United Kingdom's air and space force.

It was the world's first independent air force.

It was formed on April 1, 1918, by merging the Royal Flying Corps and the Royal Naval Air Service.

It was founded by Hugh Trenchard, 1st Viscount Trenchard.

The RAF's colors are red, white, and blue.

It's anniversary is celebrated on April 1.
