Explanation

Abd-Allah ibn Ubayy, also called Ibn Salul in reference to his grandfather, was a chief of the Arab tribe Banu Khazraj and one of the leading men of Medina.

Upon the arrival of the Islamic prophet Muhammad, Ibn Ubayy seemingly became a Muslim, but remained treacherous to Islam until his death.
