One day a bird was sitting on a tree near a stream. It was looking down at the water below. Suddenly it saw that an ant was sinking in the water. It was trying to get out but the water was flowing very fast. The bird quickly dropped a leaf in the water near the ant. The ant climbed on the leaf and looked up as if it was thanking the bird for saving its life.

A few days later, the bird was on another tree and was eating its food. It looked happy as if it was enjoying itself. It did not see that a hunter was going to shoot it. But the ant saved him. As the hunter was about to shoot, it bit him. The hunter missed his shot. The bird flew away as it was flying away, it saw that the little ant was running back into its hole in the ground.
