As things became intolerable in Makkah, the Prophet Mohammed (pbuh) decided to move to Taif where he thought he would convey the message of Allah to the tribe of Thaqeef.

Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was accompanied by his adopted son, Zayd ibn Harithah, on his trip to Taif.

The trip to Taif in 619 CE.

They went to Taif in the month of Shawwal to seek support and spread the message of Islam.
