The Rashidun Caliphate ended with the martyrdom of Hazrat Ali (RA), the fourth caliph, in 661 CE.

He was the last of the rightly guided caliphs.

After his death marked the beginning of the Umayyad Caliphate, which was established by Muawiyah.
