Explanation

The ransom of a prisoner was to teach ten children of Muslims in Battle of Badr.

After the suggestion of Hazrat Abubakar (RA), The Holy Prophet (PBUH) decided to release the prisoners of Badr war after taking ransom. 

Battle of Badr was fought in second Hijri.
