Salman Al-Farsi (RA) gave the suggestion of digging the trench around the city of Madinah at the time of the “battle of Khandaq”.

The battle is also referred to as the Battle of Confederates (غزوة الاحزاب).

The Qur'an uses the term confederates (الاحزاب) in Surah Al-Ahzab 33:9-32

Ghazwa e Khandaq was the 30-day-long fight of Yathrib by Arabian and Jewish tribes.
