The deodar’s scientific name is Cedrus deodara.

The deodar is a tall tree that can grow to be 40–50 meters tall, with trunks up to 3 meters in diameter.

The wood of the deodar is light, close-grained, and rot-resistant.

The deodar’s name comes from Sanskrit and means “wood of the god”.
