Explanation

Pakistan’s Constituent Assembly was officially constituted on July 20, 1947, under the Indian Independence Act 1947. This assembly served dual roles:

Legislative: Acting as Pakistan’s first parliament.

Constitutional: Drafting the country’s first constitution.

First Session: Held on August 10–14, 1947, in Karachi.

President: Jogendra Nath Mandal (temporary chair) and later Muhammad Ali Jinnah as permanent President.
