Explanation

General Raheel Sharif took oath as the 15th Chief of Army Staff of the Pakistan Army on November 29, 2013.

He was appointed by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.

Sharif retired from the position on November 29, 2016. 

Sharif received the Nishan-e-Imtiaz (military) in 2013.

He also received five international military awards, which is the most for any Pakistani Army Chief.
