Explanation

 There are 1,771 Madd (elongation signs) in the Holy Quran,

It is used to indicate where reciters should stretch the pronunciation of certain letters.

The two main types of madd are:

• Madd Asli/Tabiy (Natural Madd)  المد الأصلي
• Madd Far’ee (Secondary Madd) المد الفرعي
