In Islamabad, on 8 march 2022 Federal Minister Asad Umar launched the first-ever National Gender Policy Framework for Pakistan

 On the occasion of International Women’s Day, first-ever National Gender Policy Framework was launched 

Pakistan’s ranking on the Gender Inequality Index was 133 out of 160 countries.

The NGPF is targeted in six major areas:

1. governance;
2. equality and quality in education;
3. employment and economic empowerment;
4. political participation and meaningful engagement;
5. safety and security;
6. and, health and well-being.
