Statistics released by various monitoring agencies show that the Covid-19 virus is now spreading more rapidly in South Asia than in any other region in the world.

India, the region`s largest and the world`s second most populous state, recorded 92,998 new cases on one day, more than the United States and Brazil.

Bangladesh, with 5,683 cases recorded on one day, was the second worst-hit state in South Asia,

Pakistan with 4,723 cases recorded on one day was the third worst-hit state in south Asia.
