Explanation

In December 1971, after the fall of East Pakistan, Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto was appointed as both the President of Pakistan and the Civilian Chief Martial Law Administrator.

He assumed the presidency on December 20, 1971, following the resignation of Yahya Khan.

Later, he also served as the Prime Minister of Pakistan from 1973 to 1977 after the post was recreated by a new constitution.
