Explanation

The demarcation line was published on 17 Aug 1947 upon partition of India

 Sir Cyril John Radcliffe,  was made the Chairman of two boundary commissions of Punjab and Bengal

Boundary Commission,created in July 1947

To recommend how the Punjab and Bengal regions of the Indian subcontinent were to be divided.

The borderline that separated India from Pakistan, known as the Radcliffe Line was revealed.

The Radcliffe line is spread through the Rann of Kutch in Gujarat

The commission—appointed by Lord Mountbatten

Consisted of four members from the Indian National Congress

 four from the Muslim League

Chaired by Sir Cyril Radcliffe.
