Explanation

The Muhammadan Anglo-Oriental (MAO) College, founded by Sir Syed Ahmad Khan in 1875.

It started as a primary school and became a college two years (1877) later.

Inspired by the Cambridge education system, it began operations on Queen Victoria's 56th birthday, 24 May 1875.

Intermediate classes were introduced in 1878.

B.A. degree classes in 188.

By 1887, it prepared students for Thomason College of Civil Engineering at Roorkee.
