Muhammad Ali Jinnah resigned from the Imperial Legislative Council in protest against the Rowlatt Act of 1919, which he deemed oppressive and unjust.

It is also known as the Anarchical and Revolutionary Crimes Act of 1919.

It was passed on March 18, 1919, in Delhi.

In the same year, Quaid-e-Azam's daughter, Dina, was born.
