 سیّدنا موسیٰ علیہ السّلام کے جانے کے 30دن بعد سامِری نے بنی اسرائیل سے زیورات جمع کئے اور انہیں پگھلا کر ایک بچھڑا بنادیا۔

اس کے پاس اُس جگہ کی مٹّی تھی جس جگہ حضرتِ سیّدنا جبریل علیہ السّلام کے گھوڑے نے قدم رکھا تھا۔

اس نے جیسے ہی وہ مٹّی بے جان بچھڑے میں ڈالی تو وہ گائے کی طرح آواز نکالنے لگا۔

  بچھڑے کی پوجا اِس کے بعد سامِری نے لوگوں کو بہکانا شروع کردیا کہ یہ بچھڑا تمہارا اور موسیٰ علیہ السّلام کا خدا ہے
